I'm new here but have been around boats working and enjoyment.I bought a 1969 mercury that looks as if it was only used for a year tops it even had the original paper work and pull string under cowl.got it cheap due to a crack in gear case.had it welded and after folding done the threads on inside of gear case and replaced some missing parts and just replaced everything other than gears impeller as well.anyway the problem I'm having is the water coming from pee hole is warm and barely comes out at idle but flows good at higher rpm's and the temp is still just warm.and there is the same warm water is coming from were lower and upper unit meet.is it a bad seal at the water pump and pick tube that goes up to the engine? Or is suppose to come out the center of the props once it warms up like I/o motors
