Has anyone had water get past

Has anyone had water get past the water pump seal while test running with a water hose attached to the outdrive.
 
thats exactly the weak point f

thats exactly the weak point for the upper the way it is designed.

So you have water in the upper drive?

We are talking about a stringer drive correct?
 
Sorry about the delay getting

Sorry about the delay getting back but I am only home on weekends. My outdrive is a Cobra and I drained the water from the lower plug. It wasn`t much and it was clear. There didn`t appear to be any mixing with the oil witch wasn`t milky so I am leaving it sit in a bucket to see if there will be any trace of more water.

"The water pump shaft seal is the No 1 leakage point on the Cobra drives!!!!
Remember to clean out properly the small drain passage, or the pressure from the pump stays constantly on the seal, no water circulating to cool it down, and the seal cracks!"

Thanks Chiefalen and Morten I will do this first thing in the spring as it is quite cold up here this time of the year.
