i got a 1980 johnson 75 and im getting water in my lower unit.. when i check my grease in the lower unit it has water in it what and were would that be coming from the water pump?? any advice would be great.. and how would i fix this problem thanks

There are oil seals on the driveshaft. There are oil seals on the propshaft.--------The bearing housings have o-rings on them.----The 4 screws that hold the propshaft bearing housing have o-rings on them. ---The shift rod has an o-ring on it.----The fill / drain screws have a sealing washer.------So on a motor like yours it is a wise idea to install a complete kit.--------------Seals wear out over time and when " cold water boating " the seals are at greater risk of leaking.

What Racerone said. If you are going to shot-gun it, almost every time I had this problem it was the two back to back seals on the driveshaft below the waterpump.
