"Started to complete my winter
"Started to complete my winter "to do" list on my 96 FWC 454 XLi's. Found that my motors were running warm (180+) during the late part of summer and figured that it was time to clean out the HX. Pulled the end caps off and found the HX was pretty much spotless. Went a bit further and looked at the input to the oil coolers and found a large pile of broken impeller pieces that no doubt are impacting water flow through the cooling system. I've only had the boat for about three years and replaced the raw water impellers last year - the old units were basically whole, with little damage. It's a lesson for me to check the easy stuff prior to yanking the HX. Thought I would share with the group with the hope it may save some time for other folks."
