my vp does not have a raw wate

my vp does not have a raw water strainer i was thinking about installing one. iwas wondering ifthere are any flow requirmentsthe engine needs to have. its a chevy 350 thanks
 
I have seen them for the hose

I have seen them for the hose size on my raw water pump. i was just concerned about lack of volume of water going in to the pump because of the strainer? do you think that could be an issue?

Its only a problem if the strainer basket gets filled... Check it everytime you take the boat out. Be careful when removing and replacing the clean out port that you do not damage the gasket and that it is properly resealed...otherwise you will suck air and the engine will overheat.
