Hi, i have a early 1970 volvo, when i give it throttle, it revs to 3000, and then quickly dies off, not holding the rpm, i tried a new coil, but it did not help
 
Check that the gasoline is reaching the carbs, you may have a stuck anti-syphon valve in the fuel tank.

How fresh is the gas?

Thank you very much for the reply, i will check that out today, should i take the feed line from the carb, and turn over the motor to see if the flow is good, and where is the anti syphon valve located
