"I've got the housing apart, trying to get to the forward clutch pack. The drive gear and forward clutch assembly is out of the housing. The manual tells to use a soft hammer to slide the drive gear out of the ring gear. This is after you remove two retainers holding the ball bearing. Well, that shaft is not moving with significant taps thru a small piece of wood to the end of the shaft. Does it sometimes take a press to make this move? I don't want to force something without reason. Both shops I know that could help are likely closed for the next 4 days. Anyone here done this job? TIA"
