I had my 5.0L Volvo Penta engine pulled to repair a gasket leak on my transom. Since it was re-installed I have been having speed control problems. I have problems maintaining speeds between 3000 & 4000 RPM. It seems this is due to vacuum problems causing the secondary jets on my carberator to engage & dis-engage. I also have an intermittent miss that could be vacuum related. The only thing that I have found wrong was the J-vent on my primary side of my carburator was broken off and laying on top of one of the primary jets. I have ordered a new one from Jegs and should have it installed by the weekend. Any ideas on whats going on? Could it be this J-vent?
