vacuum gauge hook up?

Hi Guy,

I want to do a vacuum check on my 1986 4.3. Where would be the best place to connect the gauge? Thanks for any help given.

My 1987 4.3L has a plug in the intake manifold on the backside of the carb. base mounting area. I removed it and installed a nipple.

You're welcome. You should see around 15" - 17" of vacuum at that point. I set the idle mixture w/a vacuum gauge; works great.
