"Hi all,
Same boat, different motor. Trying to work the kinks out...almost there!
1988 6 hp Evenrude. Trolling motor. Main motor is the 120 looper. The original owner installed a fuel switch to switch the gas tank between the main motor and the trolling motor. The main motor has oil injection of course, which seems to be working great. For the kicker, the boat has one those old omc oil-injection units. Well, out on the lake, we tried using it, and it ran great for a few seconds, then seems to load up the longer it runs. I mean it really smokes. When running it from a regular outboard tank, mixed 50:1, it runs fine. I suspect the OMC oil injection thingy that the gas line runs thru is fubared and letting too much oil in. Can I still buy a new one or am I destined to run an auxiliary tank with my auxiliary engine from now on?
Thanks!
Randy"
