Hey guys I need some help if anyone can chime in. I own a 1996 Johnson 225HP oceanrunner. Model # is J225txede.
My trim tilt system was leaking but was working well until the trim motor quit. I had the intentions to reseal when that motor quit. Problem was the 4 bolts that hold that motor on all snapped when trying to take motor off assembly.
I want to just buy a used assembly. But these part numbers from various engines aren’t matching up. The assembly from the smaller motors looks identical to the assembly I have. Does anyone know if the smaller HP engines use the same assembly?
I figured they may have changed the part #’s just so you’d get confused and just buy the new one for $1,000.
