Maintenance question: 1989 5.0 305 GM block, Alpha one

There is a rectangular plastic reservoir behind my batteries that I believe to be for Trim-Tilt fluid. Does this fluid need to be changed / topped off every season or is it self-contained / not something I should worry about?

Trim tilt currently works fine.

Thanks

Re: Trim Tilt maintenance

You should definitely check the fluid level regularly, and fill to recommended level.

If the fluid looks dirty or milky, then dump it out and put fresh in. The milky fluid could mean water intrusion from somewhere, maybe a leaky trim cylinder seal?

If it looks clean and clear then alls good!
