" I've got a l984 OMC 3.8 I/O with power trim that won't stay put. I had the motor rebuilt, put new seals in the trim cylinders, changed the oil lines, and disassembled and cleaned the pump assembly (which was stuck in one position due to sludge). After all that, the unit runs well but will not stay trimmed. I cannot find a new or used unit to match. OMC no longer lists the pump or pump assembly. At this point I plan to convert to a different type of pump, either a Mercruiser, or Oildyne. Has anyone gone through this and found a pump that works well? As long as I find something that will pump and hold the trim in place I can always find a way to mount it under the motor cover. E-mail me if you'e like. Thanks "
