My trim gauge quit working on my '97 Volvo/OMC Cobra ST sterndrive. I was told they go out after many years. I suspect the sealed module on the lower unit is where the problem is. I use to adjust the gauge by loosening the 10mm bolts and rotate the module clockwise or counter clockwise. Now it doesn't register anything at all anymore. I can live without it, but since I pulled off the lower unit for servicing I might want to try to replace it. Is it very difficult? I heard the worst part is threading it thru the transom?
