Tohatsu Starter

My 30HP usually starts immediately but occasionally it only clicks. If I pull the manually crank cord and turn the engine once, the electric starter
works. Any ideas?

What model? 2 or 4 stroke? When it clicks, does the starter gear jump up? If not, likely a solenoid issue.

Thanks - - It is a 4 stroke.

So see if the solenoid is failing
