Hi All,
Am troubleshooting a Year 2000 Tohatsu M30A4 30HP 2 Stroke Outboard for a friend.
Would like to know what factory compression should be?
Currently getting 75PSI Both Cyls WOT Cold - "Seems Low"
And can anyone reference anything showing how to test Ign Coil and stator with expected Ohm readings?
Outboard is hard to start, will only start on Elec Starter, near impossible with Pull Start and Spark seems weak, once running have had it WOT on the water OK but when you get down to low revs it dies and will never restart almost like its losing spark when hot or its very weak. Guess if that comp reading is lower it will be that being an issues also.
Have been through carb, its like new and tuned idle mix, has fuel pressure.
