Tohatsu 40c rejet for altitude

Hi there everyone I have a 2000 M40c with a Keihin carb marked b59c ja28 - I cannot find any information on which jet kits to order for this engine.

I operate the engine at 7000 feet and have trouble with cold starting and low speed operation. Only way I can get the boat to go from idle is to pin it, and then it will run fine at speed, but bog or stall when at low revs.

I contacted them, they actually do not.

Hmm. Perhaps because it's so obsolete.

How can a 2000 model outboard be " obsolete "----Johnson / Evinrude parts are available still for motors built in the 1960's.----Even though they do not market the brands at this time.

40C, 40D, MFS... Yours is 3 generations old. Once upon a time, manufacturers made all their own stuff; today, specialty shops make carbs, starters, etc. So when EPA forces a change, the demand for parts disappears. Then no more parts.
