Tilt trim cylinder rod bottom piece

I have a leak in the top of my tilt trim piston around the dust cap seal. I am wanting to replace the seals in the top screw in piece. I have it out. My question is how do I remove the bottom piece that has the springs and check valves. I have removed the 3 screws and the springs, bearing and check valves. Now I have no idea how to remove it. So I can remove the top cap. Please help.
I could not add a picture but if you can help and need a pic I can text or email one.

It is threaded on the end of the rod and has locktite on the threads. You will need to heat it up in order to melt the locktite. You will need to use a strap wrench in order to unscrew the bottom piece. Curiously, what year is the engine you are working on and where did you get the seal kits? They're getting hard to find.
