"I have a 1986 DT-85. The starboard side trim cylinder is leaking because it looks like before I bough the boat that someone clamped vice grips on the rod and gouged it badly. In addition, I can't get the cap off. I've checked parts diagrams and there seem to be some differences between the years, yet some of the parts are common to different models. Does anyone know if an 83-85 unit fit an 86-87 motor?? It also looks like maybe some of the DT-115 parts are the same but I don't want to waste the money on stuff that won't fit. Even if I could get mine apart, Suzuki has obsoleted the piston, which is what I need. I have found a couple of complete working units for $275, but they aren't for my year motor."
