Thoughts on 2003 EVinrude 175's

Are subject motors considered part of the FICHT generation?
I have not heard many good things about these motors.

I tried many times to research on this but can't find the relevant answer. Hope someone can help.

If they are 2003 Evinrudes they are the 60° Ficht motor. I myself would not invest in them.

Because I'm not familiar w/ them, or OB's in general for that matter.
Isn't the purpose of having a forum such as this to discuss topics, ask questions and share information?

The only thing to really know about the ficht motors is to be happy you don't own one.
The motors are basically obsolete.
No factory support anymore
Nobody wants to work on them
Bad design
Many many problems with them.
Some aftermarket support for them
