Thermostat Removal

I have a 1991 Evinrude 115hp model TE115TLEIE, will the three bolts come out of the thermostat housing without hitting the lower cowling? Can it be done without removing the power head? Also, it has the bubble back exhaust.

Yes it can be done.----Might help to remove lower " horseshoe " cowling piece.

Do you mean the small cover under the big cowling?

correct.-----Not a hard job on a freshwater motor.
