" This spark test you keep mentioning (7/16 jump) do I perform this test with the motor running, or just crank it over a few times with one plug wire off at a time? Also, would it pay to disassemble and blow out my carb jets or should I get the rebuild kit? Do these kits come with new jets? Thanks again...kenny ('90 johnson 115) "

"Kenny... The spark test is made by having "all" of the spark plugs removed, then check the spark at "cranking speed". If the carbs are fouled even slightly, it's a good idea to remove, clean, and rebuild them to new condition so as not to overlook anything. The jets (Idle, Intermediate, and High) do not come with the carb kits. NOTE: after removing each jet, look at it closely (there's numbers on them), and make a note as to where each one goes. Some of them resemble each other closely but are entirely different! Also mark which float chamber goes with which carburetor as the fuel supply fitting may be (and usually is) aligned slightly different.
