Engine has about 1800 hours. What would cause oil to come out the dipstick tube while underway. Didn’t happen at idle in the marina but while running. Dipstick comes up a bit and oil bubbles out

Could be many things, as simple as too much oil (unlikely but check anyway) or too much pressure in the crankcase. Check your PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) configuration for plugging (most likely) .Worst case is that your piston compression rings are broken, valve seals deteriorated or crack in piston. The latter possibilities needs a compression test to confirm, but I would argue that you probably would already noticed having exhaust smoke issues.
