I have a 1987 140 hp johnson,my tach is not working it is a systems check tack (brand new) when i turn the key on all the lights and buzzer work fine go on and off as they should when i start the eng the tach jumps a little then goes back down to 0 rpms my charging system seems fine never had a problem dead battery, does the recifier have anything to do with it and can it be bad. Thanks for any help i can get.
