Suzuki DF25 v-twin, strange behavior of gears

Hi
I have a 2011 Suzuki DF25 v2, with some problems related to shifting gears. I have adjusted the gear linkage so that it changes gear forward and reverse perfectly when I start the engine. But after running for a while and changing gears a few times it starts to get harder and harder to engage, until it will not engage at all. I can feel that the lever inside the engine between remote wire and clutch rod is quite stiff and requires some force to move. Could this cause an issue like this?

I am starting to fear something is wrong inside gear housing...

Any ideas?

I know of 3 of these motors at one salvage place.----No lower units on them.-----Time to investigate the state of the inside I Think.

Is there a grease nipple hidden on the lever? I have a different Suzuki engine than yours and have a grease nipple on the shift lever, I have to take the lower starboard side cover off to access it. Your operator manual should show it if you have one.
