Stupid question time ('64 Evinrude 18 h.p.)

Where the water pump "pee hole" on a '64 Eveinrude 18 h.p.? I'm not seeing anything above the water line, does it exit thru the exhaust port? I've looked thru the owners manual, service manual and the SELOC manual and nothing is mentioned.
