Stuck Throttle on 1939 Johnson HD39 Outboard

wet

Hey all,

I found a HD39 Johnson Seahorse in my buddy's grandfather's garage where it probably sat for over 40 years. I've gotten almost all the moving parts lubed up and moving again but the old school throttle lever is still fixed in place and I'm afraid to break it... I'll never find another.

Any ideas or tips on how I can go about getting this moving again? Any and all comments are appreciated (unless you'rehere to tell me how dumb I am lmao).

Thanks,

I would remove the flywheel and see if the coil has melted and the goo has run over the side of the mag plate and stuck the plate. Also, a big problem down here in Florida is mud dobbers (wasps) have gotten up under the plate and made their saliva, mud, adobe hut for the larva to incubate in.
