Stripped Thread

Can anyone tell me the torque setting for the lower unit bolts on a 2000 30hp Mariner. I have repaired one stripped thread and don't want to strip another. Thanks.

Your owner's manual usually has a chart based on strength and diameter of the fastener. My experience with torque spec charts is that they are/seem to be at the point just before the hardware strips or snaps. On my 90 and 115 I pull them all up snug and then in an X fashion, twist them till they stop moving and then a couple of whacks with your other hand on top of the one on the wrench give them a good push with my bare hand or a couple of whacks with a 6 oz hammer using a 6-7" box end wrench where it will fit and open end where it won't.
