" Hello-
I have looked through the shop manual and can find everything else possible EXCEPT for what the stock compression is supposed to be (psi) for when I do my compression check. I just bought the boat, and it is not running, but cranking and would like to know what the stock numbers should be around. If anyone has any idea, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! "

A GOOD JUDGEMENT FOR A COMPRESSION TEST IS 130-160 PSI WITH NO MORE THAN 10% DIFF. BETWEEN HIGHEST AND LOWEST. ALSO POINTS AND CONDENSERS ON THESE MOTORS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR GOING BAD IF THEY SIT.

" Well, thats what I was afraid of. I ran the compression check yesterday and got 55-70-70-60, off a half charged battery and a battery charger on start. Hopefully the engine just wasn't cranking hard enough, but not real likely. Thanks for all the help. Todd "
