anyone know how hot the top cap on an alpha r should get, mine gets hot but not sure if its normal, 140 4 cylinder

Using mercruiser sterndrive oil and its full just changed it and put new water pump.

they do get plenty hot. don't have, and never have seen a number. keep the oil up, and don't worry.
