My boat is a 14'4" Hou

My boat is a 14'4" Hourston Glascraft runabout(late 60's or early 70's I think) with a 1995 johnson 50hp. The boat is still equipped with the original cable and pulley steering. What steering systems are available on the market to update the boat with a newer steering setup.
 
A New rotary or rack and pinio

A New rotary or rack and pinion (helm) with a single push/pull cable is a direct fit. The cable will go through the tube that your engine pivots up and down on. That is called a tilt tube.

You will need a steering kit (helm assembly with cable) and a steering link arm that connects the cable end to the engines tiller arm.

All can easliy be had for less than $150.00.
