starting difficulty

2nd season on new 350 crusaders (with carburetors).
End of last season, stbd engine would stall immediately after key release from "start". Happens 5-6 times before stays running. Will occasionally stall without warning. Replaced ignition switch. Did not solve the problem. Checked all connections at engine. All appeared good.

Launched this year. Now port engine has the same problem.

Likely nothing is wrong....more detail would assist those of us that aren't there....I'd suspect there isn't enough fuel in the float bowls for the idle circuits to flow enough fuel when it 'stalls'...

Assuming this happens after being away for a week or so??

Once it gets to the "stays running" state, will it restart if you shut it off and let it sit a minute???

Bad connection on the ballast resistor.

Thanks Jeff. I checked ballast and it's okay. However the test light went out when I tapped the ignition relay. Ordered it. We shall see.....

Changed both ignition relays. That was the problem. Starts every time.
