starting 225 etec on land

Hey guys. I want to start my 07 225 etec on land. To be clear I have not run this motor yet. The usual ports for using earmuffs look inadequate. If I cover the 6 drain holes at the front of the lower, will enough water circulate with my garden hose and earmuffs?

Sounds like it has a Magnum lower unit, need to really run it in a barrel

Thanks. I will start it just to make sure it does that. Since I have no adequate barrel, I guess testing will get done on the bay
