starter wont disengage 1999 4.3

hello I have a 1999 mercruiser 4.3 litre the boat starts with out a problem but for about a couple of seconds after its started the starter will still be on. it then stops does anyone know how I could over come this problem as the noise doesn't sound good.

sticking starter, sticking solenoid, sticking slave solenoid.May want to pull the starter and have it checked
