starter motor

I have a 1988 120 hp Johnson . when starting it cranks very slow as if battery is weak. Replaced battery and installed new battery cables of a larger size with new connectors on all ends still have same problem. Is there any way to test starter motor before buying replacement? Also were is a good place to get replacement motor for a good price?
