linked is my J120TLCOS starter with my meter on Ohms and conected to the power and ground. Is this suppose to show a reading?

Just want to make sure that its not shorted before I get ready to fire it up.

Thank you. I had almost no experience with motors prior to this project (reviving a 1985 J120 for sentimental reasons) and I am nearly done with swapping out the power head. I got quick help here with another issue so I figured it might be a silly question it made me feel better.

The brushes gotta ground somewhere...

Not only that, but if that battery cable is connected to anything, you should never make an OHMS test on a source of power.

Yes! This I knew because I asked questions back when I got my meter. Still am not able to use it to its full capacity but it has helped me through this rebuild by confirming various components are in working order.
