recently had incorrect starter installed...one that spun engine in wrong direction...question: potential damage tom internal parts of engine if engine was attempted to be started w/starter that turned engine "backwards"

I couldn't imagine it would cause any damage to the engine.. realistically as long as timing is good on a 4 stroke the valve train components would be in time regardless of the direction the crank turned.
