what causes eletrodes to melt on the spark plug? where it comes out of the porcelin? its in a 350v-8 carbed. any ideas??

bt doctur thanks i was thinkn lean fuel mixture, i put super unlead in it with a bottle of stp, going to quit doin that! and check timing,i just put colder plugs in. again thanks very helpful!!!

the timing if correct with your plug issue would indicate a lean condition , possibly an intake leak.
fuel cools the combustion chamber. running at high load high RPM this can even melt a hole in the pistons.

make sure the fuel filters are clean / unrestricted.

using a higher octane fuel reduces combustion chamber temps as it takes longer to ignite . this is why when using low octane your engine under a heavy load will ping
