Spark plug gap 0.035 vs 0.040 question on 1986 225hp Evinrude

I can't seem to find the thread where it was recommended to try gapping new plugs 0.040 vs 0.035 on V6 loopers. Can someone in the know revisit this issue and give their insight on it?
