Spark Plug Broke on AR230 Yamaha

Hi,

I've had a AR230 model Yamaha for over a year and recently the spark plug inside the engine broke. The repair guy said it was due to heat, but that this could have sparked an explosion which could have been fatal. Has anyone heard of this occurence before?

Ayuh,... I've seen sparkplugs rust off, 'n break off in the head before, Lotsa times...

Never heard of any kinda Explosion from it though...
Unless the sparkplug wire is arcin', 'n you've got gasoline sloshin' 'round in the bilge...
