"Should you get a shock if you

"Should you get a shock if you touch the rubber of a spark plug lead whilst motor is running?
And, the common practise around here, is to liberally spray power head & electrics with CRC after use. Is this a good/bad idea?"

"If the boot is properly seate

"If the boot is properly seated on the plug, the plug is clean, and the leads are clean and have no cracks, then you will not get a shock.

If the leads are cracked, the boot is loose or cracked, or there's dirt on the plug that can be a pathway for a discharge, you may get a zap.

Other sources are leads that are pinched on the mag clamps or leaky coils.

If you can, run the motor in a pitch-black environment with the cover off -- that'll help pinpoint the source of the leak."
