Soaking carbs or not

ive been reading alot of forum

ive been reading alot of forums on here and iboats and some other sites and alot of people say soak the carbs in carb cleaner or boil in water and alot of others say that it is not good for the carbs to be totaly sumerged in carb cleaner and im wondering whats really better for the carbs thanks for the input and any comments are really helpful for other boaters out there

"The carb itself will not be damaged by being soaked in cleaner. However all 'rubber' parts like gaskets, float-needle tip etc may not be too happy. I would recommend to completely disassemble the carb first."

In agreement with Morten. I would ad that one would not want to soak the plastic type carburetors in any kind of carburetor cleaning solvent.
