Shift Limit Screw_1977-79 Yamaha model 40A

I accidentally removed the shift limit screw. Do you have any tricks for lining up and installing the shift limit screw, or do I need to pull the lower part of the housing off. Of course, if the lower part of the housing is removed, looks like the gasket will need to be replaced.

Right now, I have the gear housing removed to rebuild the water pump.

Any advice you have is appreciated. Thanks
 
Sorry,but I think you might get more response in the Yamaha section.No one means to be rude or ignore your problem,but most of the guys here deal with Mercs,even if it is a Yamaha built Mariner:D
