search as I might , I cant find what year my 25 A is , serial # is BAJL 1001740 and on tag is made in japan
(B25A) year might come in handy sometime

Are you sure it's not a BF25A?

I'm having a similar problem referencing the Serial number of my BF25A because Honda Canada doesn't have the Serial Number in their system, and the boat parts websites never seem to find it. However on mine, there is a plate on the front "handle" where the wires run to the tiller handle that actually has a manufacturer date on it.
