serial # hp ID

Howdy, I'm trying to determine the HP on a Johnson power head, not sure if this is possible by serial #? I'm hoping it's a 7.5 Hp but not sure. Serial # on power head freeze plug is 1686992 Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Posting a picture might identify it in just seconds.----Marketed in 56 / 57 / 58 and also in 1980 / 81 / 82 / 83 for 7.5 HP models.

1,686,992 comes up as a 1958. 5.5 & 7.5hp motors look similar, but there are differences that are easy to spot.
