resleeving?

I have an evinrude 1995 20hp oceanpro. one of the cylinders has a very nasty groove wore in it from a broken ring alignment pin. can it be re sleeved?

there was damage from a pin that broke free and cut nearly through sleeve from intake port to head.as well as other damage.just removed sleeve and going to guage interference.

contacted pwc for a new sleeve $120. dropped old one. gauged opening and new one should drop right in. with dry ice ,frozen sleeve and heated block. as long I have .004 interference. if all looks according to plan I will complete it, if not I have a shop lined up

You will need to mill top of block flush as sleeves are not the same length and also will need bored to standard size as they are undersized

will be sending finished block to shop after install so they can give a quick check and bore. original spec call for 3.6845-3.6855 and new sleeve comes in at 3.6850. hopefully after cooling will be right on money.
