Replacing kill switch

I am replacing the toggle-style kill switch with a potted button/lanyard style.

Does just the black/yellow wire get interrupted with this type, or does the black wire go to one side and black/yellow to the other? Simply go black to black and spit/splice only the black/yellow?

Here is how it was originally wired, with an inset of newer switch I plan to install.
