removing tilt/trim on 40/48/50 OMC

Is there some sort of trick to remove the top pin? Bottom pin on both units came out fine. The top pin on both units will not budge.

Try heat then a brass drift and a large heavy hammer. Good luck

Kinda figured that was the answer. Not real cool, how OMC neglected to leave a void space in the transom bracket, so that you can get a square hit on the end of the pin, though.

My Johnson tilts up and I can block it up high enough to get a square hit on the pin I go higher than the tilt locks and use a 2x4 piece block it. Good luck
