Removing side panels to access cables and wiring 1989 2.3 L

I have a 1989 Bayliner Capri with a 2.3 Ford OMC Cobra drive. I am trying to figure out how to remove the trim panel on the shifter side of the boat to access the wiring and cables, etc.

Re: Removing side panels to access cables and wiring

On my '89 1952 Capri you don't have to remove the trim panel. All the cables and wiring are run behind it in the gunwhale (probably just spelled that wrong but you get what you pay for) and are accessed from below and in back of that trim pad. If you still need to remove it, the screws are hidden in the creases of the vinyl.

Re: Removing side panels to access cables and wiring

Thanks, I can see the wiring but it appears to have been secured with tie wraps and screw with the panels off. I wanted to take the panel off for a repair so I can resecure everything properly. i may use different attaching methods so i will not have to remove the panel in the future. It looked like I could tap it upward and it would come off but when lightly tapping it did nothing i thought it best to ask. Thanks again.
