Relocating flush hose - 2004 BF 225

Has anybody ever relocated their flush hose to a location inside the boat to make flushing much easier? Accessing my flush system from the boat, while on the dock during the season is a pain. I'm thinking of getting some additional hose and a coupler, and moving the female end to a spot under the gunwhale. To keep the cooling system closed, I would attach it to a male plug, or simply put a quick connect garden hose end on it.

Thoughts/experiences doing this?

Thanks!

I just unscrewed mine from the flush connection holder below cowl and screwed on a quick connect hose connection and used a plastic tie to suspend in place. Could certainly do as CHawk did and extend the hose so that it is inside the boat.

Thanks for the replies guys. Here’s what I ended up doing: popped off the female end, connected a 10’ 3/8” ID hose on the engine side (left the male fitting on its own), then put the female end back on the end of the new hose, which attaches to a brass fitting that has a shutoff valve and female end to easily connect to a hose or the salt-away device. This is super easy, no hanging half way off the boat to get the hose on and off!

The end is tucked under the small hatch when not being used.

Coming back to this a few months later - this has been a great upgrade making the flushing process so much easier. Good luck to others who try it too. Only recommendation is to keep the pressure fairly low, no need to go nuts!
